C/R: Akufo-Addo drove 35 V8 vehicles, 10 sirens to Gomoa for nothing; it was a waste of time — NDC

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) office in Gomoa Central has described President Akufo-Addo’s visit to the Constituency as a complete waste of time.

The President on Friday and Saturday toured the Central Region to among other things inspect projects and engage the chiefs.

During the tour, he paid a visit to a number of Constituencies including Gomoa Central.

In a release from the NDC in Gomoa Central, the President has failed to complete a single project in the Constituency since becoming President.

The statement signed by Gomoa Central Communications Officer Safo Nkrumah accuses the President of denying the people of Gomoa a fair share of the national cake.

“The membership of the National Democratic Congress and the entire populace in the Gomoa Central Constituency are appalled that President Akufo Addo drove over thirty-five (35) Toyota Land Cruiser V8 vehicles with close to ten sirens to our constituency for nothing.

“His visit is a complete waste of time because all the roads in Gomoa Central that he savagely abrogated upon assumption of office have deteriorated more than he met it. From Gomoa Abasa to Ayensuadze, Awombrew to Nsuaem, Achiase to Dahom, Nduom to Lome; none of these roads has attracted the attention of the NPP government since 2017,” parts of the NDC release reads.

The NDC Gomoa Central office further calls on Ghanaians to vote out the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) from government in the 2024 general elections for failing the citizenry.

PRESIDENT NANA AKUFO ADDO’S VISIT TO GOMOA CENTRAL CONSTITUENCY: A COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME

The membership of the National Democratic Congress and the entire populace in the Gomoa Central Constituency are appalled that President Akufo Addo drove over thirty-five (35) Toyota Land Cruiser V8 vehicles with close to ten sirens to our constituency for nothing.

Upon assumption of office in 2017, the Nana Addo-led NPP government could not boast of one single completed GoG project in the Gomoa Central Constituency. By September 2016, President Mahama had already commissioned the Gomoa Gyaman Senior High School—E-Block within three years of becoming president of this republic. President Nana Addo came to do what? to inspect a supposed district hospital as part of the infamous Agenda 111, which according to the contractors is 20% complete? Is this our hope?

To him much is given, much is expected. Hence, a government that received 51.5% of the total votes cast in 2016 and 51.6% in 2020 is expected to do more when the people renew their mandate with almost the same number of votes and have kept faith with them. Like many constituencies in the Central Region and elsewhere across the country, President Akufo Addo has failed, and his sorry NPP administration needs to be sent packing come 2024.

His visit is a complete waste of time because all the roads in Gomoa Central that he savagely abrogated upon assumption of office have deteriorated more than he met it. From Gomoa Abasa to Ayensuadze, Awombrew to Nsuaem, Achiase to Dahom, Nduom to Lome; none of these roads has attracted the attention of the NPP government since 2017. In addition, the main road linking Winneba Junction to Agona Swedru and Gomoa Akropong No 2 to Gomoa Gyaman is nothing to write home about, yet our people renewed their mandate and kept faith with him and his government. What a failed president.

It is sad to report that the deceptive NPP government of 2017 has yet to commission one single CHPS compound in this constituency. Compared to President Mahama’s administration, which in three years had commissioned CHPS compounds in Gomoa Lome, Manso, Asebu, Aboso, Dahom, and so on. Sadly, none of the toilet facilities that were constructed in 2017 have been completed and are being used anywhere in Gomoa Central. The toilet facilities that then vice candidate Dr. Bawumia boastfully declared that by 2 years in office, an NPP government would make sure that every town and village has toilet facilities. None of the toilets constructed in this constituency have received any attention except the one that rodents and reptiles have given it for seven years and counting.

We in the NDC wish to remind the citizens that the NPP government has failed the good people of Gomoa Central and such needs to be voted out in 2024.

Signed
