A leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Gabby Otchere Darko has said Ghanaians must ask themselves how they can contribute to nation building whenever they highlight wrongs in the Ghanaian society on social media.
In a tweet on Sunday the Former Executive Director of the Danquah Institute said “Before you do what we do best, which is to use your social media to once again highlight what is wrong with Ghana, ask yourself, ‘what am I doing this week as a positive add on to nation building?’”
It is recalled that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo during his second investiture in Parliament Thursday, January 7, 2021, charged Ghanaians to continue being citizens and not spectators by actively participating in the day to day running of the administration of government to make Ghana a better place for all.
“The sheer can-do-spirit of the Ghanaian, which I have witnessed all my life, is the bedrock on which we can build the Ghana of our dreams. Indeed, four years ago, at my first inauguration, I urged all Ghanaians to be, and I quote, ‘citizens and not spectators’.
“I appealed to you to be active participants in the effort to help build the Ghana we want – the democratic, free, prosperous and united Ghana envisioned by our founding fathers as the Black Star of Africa”, he said.
